What You’ll Actually Do
• NAV Production & Accounting: Support the daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation and comprehensive accounting for commingled investment portfolios, ensuring meticulous accuracy and adherence to financial standards.
• Transaction Management: Meticulously process and verify all financial activities, including complex transactions, capital stock activity, expenses, corporate actions, and cash movements, maintaining precise financial records.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively identify, thoroughly research, and effectively resolve accounting and reconciliation discrepancies, escalating problematic items and ensuring timely follow-up until full resolution is achieved, thereby minimizing operational risk.
• Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration: Serve as a primary point of contact for derivative valuation inquiries, communicating professionally to resolve issues, and actively partner with internal departments to investigate and address complex accounting and valuation challenges.
• Operational Oversight & Improvement: Monitor daily production volumes to ensure all accounting deliverables consistently meet stringent quality and timeliness standards, contribute to management reporting, and identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An entry-level position requiring a BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience, with a keen interest or foundational experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial services operations. This role is ideal for candidates eager to build their career in a crucial area of financial services.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required for daily operational tasks.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify, escalate, and resolve complex issues efficiently and effectively. Exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all accounting activities and deliverables. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, enabling professional and constructive interaction within the team and across internal departments to resolve issues and minimize operational risk.
• Bonus: An understanding of Net Asset Value (NAV), reconciliations, derivatives, or various investment products is a significant advantage for this role, providing a head start in grasping complex financial concepts.
