Entry Level Finance – Memphis | Turner Construction Company

This role is crucial for assisting with financial administration and cost accounting activities for assigned projects, ensuring compliance and accuracy in project financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Accounting: Assist with and perform project accounting tasks, analyzing financial data for assigned projects using company financial systems.
• Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation, review, and audit of Cost reports, learning to identify cost variances and project risks.
• Accounts Payable & Compliance: Support timely Accounts Payable transactions, review vendor and subcontractor invoices, and verify subcontractor compliance.
• Month-End Close Activities: Learn and perform assigned components of month-end close activities, including posting journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Billing & Forecasting: Support preparation of project billings, monitor accounts receivable status, and participate in forecasting General Conditions/General Requirements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field of study.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Skills: Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), highly organized with accuracy and attention to detail, proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and professional verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: Internship or co-op experience in accounting or finance, basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for financial analysis, and familiarity with financial systems (e.g., SAP).
