Sales Development Program Consultant | Allegion
The Tone:
This is a 12-month rotational Sales Development Program role at Allegion, primarily located in Carmel, IN. This program is designed to equip individuals with no prior sales or security hardware knowledge to become successful sales professionals, making a significant impact in a vital industry. • Mission: Enable individuals without prior sales or security hardware knowledge to succeed in door hardware and security product sales.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage in the comprehensive 12-month Sales Development Program to increase knowledge about the industry, Allegion customers, products, and processes.
• Participate in a 3-month product and industry training module on location in Denver, CO, learning from experts alongside other program employees with corporate housing and temporary transportation provided.
• Complete a 2-month rotation with corporate non-regional sales teams, including individually assigned projects and presenting on results.
• Undertake a 7-month field training rotation, coordinating joint sales calls, participating in local security tradeshows, and building customer relationships within an assigned sales territory.
• Learn Allegion’s organizational structure and utilize tools like Dynamics CRM, Overtur, and PowerBI for project information management, while maintaining compliance with company policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level career background with a Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing preferred. No prior selling or security hardware knowledge is required for program entry.
• Experience: Proficiency with MS Office tools is essential. A strong mechanical and electronics aptitude is also needed.
• Skills: Detail orientation with a high level of organization and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication, influencing skills, and a bias for action.
• Bonus: Ability to travel up to 20%.
