What You’ll Actually Do
• Vendor Invoicing: Process vendor invoices, match them with purchase orders, and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
• Payment Processing: Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Customer Billing: Create and issue customer invoices in accordance with project contracts and construction billing requirements.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements, bank activity, and AP and AR accounts while resolving any payment issues.
• Financial Support: Support month-end close activities, audits, special projects, and general office administration.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong understanding of account reconciliations.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices, payments, receipts, customer billing, and vendor statements. Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office is required.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities, coupled with attention to detail and knowledge of construction billing practices such as progress billing or retainage.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; prior accounting experience within the construction industry; experience with work-in-progress accounting, job costing, or percentage-of-completion concepts; familiarity with lien waivers, W-9 requirements, and construction compliance documentation; and exposure to supporting audits, month-end close, or process improvement initiatives.
