Tom James is the world’s largest manufacturer and retailer of made-to-order clothing, operating as one of the few remaining vertically integrated clothing retailers controlling the entire manufacturing process ‘from sheep to suit.’ This Accounts Payable Representative role is crucial for providing essential financial support to the Sales Professional Team, ensuring efficient vendor payments, accurate expense recording, and maintaining positive vendor relationships, which underpins the company’s steady growth and operational excellence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Pay vendors efficiently, identifying discount opportunities and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Process invoices daily, including coding, reviewing pre-coded items, and entering them into the accounting system.
• Allocate expenses accurately to accounts and cost centers through invoice analysis and spreadsheet recording.
• Communicate with vendors to address inquiries, resolve payment issues, and maintain positive relationships.
• Manage vendor information by gathering W-9s, setting up new vendors, and maintaining the Accounts Payable database.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience: Preferred: Experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting.
• Skills: Basic data entry, Strong Microsoft Office, Internet, and email skills, Good written and verbal communication skills, Strong organization and planning skills, Attention to detail and accuracy, Ability to maintain confidentiality.
