Staff Accountant | West Shore Home

The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at West Shore Home, located in Mechanicsburg, PA, with a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in compiling and auditing financial data and reports, directly supporting internal and external reporting crucial for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis and management review, contributing to the company’s commitment to excellence and its mission to Bring Happiness to Every Home®.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Closing: Prepare timely and accurate journal entries to participate in the closing of accounting books, aiming to finalize monthly financial records within a five-business-day goal.
• Account Analysis: Perform comprehensive general ledger account analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across various accounts.
• Reconciliation Preparation: Prepare detailed monthly account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain precise financial records.
• Reporting Compilation: Compile essential data and generate reports to support both internal stakeholders and external reporting requirements.
• Audit Facilitation: Provide necessary assistance and documentation to support internal and external audit processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications for financial data management and reporting.
• Skills: General ledger account analysis, account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, financial data compilation, audit support.
• Bonus: CPA preferred.
