Fund Accountant, Alternative Investment Funds | SEI
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at SEI, where you will join the rapidly growing Investment Manager Services Division on the Alternative Investment Funds accounting team. SEI is a technology and asset management company, with over 50 years of experience as a global provider of investment processing, management, and operations solutions. This role is critical for delivering exceptional accounting and administration services to clients’ assigned hedge and private equity funds, acting as an intermediary and the official record keeper for these funds.

• Mission: Provide exceptional accounting and administration services for clients’ hedge and private equity funds by acting as an intermediary and official record keeper.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Fund Accounting & Reporting: Price and maintain timely records for hedge and private equity holdings using various external pricing resources, perform timely reconciliations regarding Net Asset Values, and provide comprehensive accounting reports.
• Client Communication & Packages: Communicate transactions associated with the fund(s) and collaborate closely with internal and external clients to provide accurate and thorough accounting packages.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Coordinate and support various year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards and perform due diligence to ensure clients comply with government laws and regulations.
• External Investment Manager Correspondence: Correspond with external investment managers regarding day-to-day fund inquiries, including fee payments, cash position breaks, and reconciliations, prioritizing client engagement and quality service.
• Process Improvement & Development: Attend and participate in various IMS and corporate professional development sessions to acquire tools for identifying and implementing future process solutions across the division and organization.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or hold equivalent work experience, indicating an early career level.
• Experience: Previous internship experience is preferred for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with strong self-motivation and drive to monitor multiple client deliverables without sacrificing excellence or quality, coupled with strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
