What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable: Process invoices, post payments, monitor accounts, and lead collection efforts to ensure timely revenue recognition.
• Accounts Payable: Manage vendor onboarding, facilitate invoice approvals, process payments, and perform vendor reconciliations.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Post payroll reports, allocate expenses by class, and maintain comprehensive records for revenue, expenditures, and paid media spend.
• Month-End Close Support: Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations and prepare necessary journal entries to support smooth month-end closing processes.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial information required for internal reporting, external reporting, and tax filings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant field is required; an associate’s degree combined with pertinent experience will also be considered. This foundation ensures a solid understanding of core accounting principles necessary for the role.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a professional setting. Experience providing finance-related administrative support is also a key aspect of this role.
• Skills: Proficiency with Google Sheets and Excel is essential for data management and analysis. The ability to handle confidential information professionally, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail are critical for maintaining financial accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required for effective collaboration.
• Bonus: Experience with specific accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Justworks, Bill.com, and Ramp is preferred. Previous experience gained within startup or growth-oriented environments would also be advantageous for this position.
