What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Strategy: Contribute and actively participate in defining the category business plan and strategies to drive growth and profitability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams from marketing, sales, and finance to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Customer Insights: Gather and analyze customer feedback and data to understand customer needs, preferences, pain points, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
• Product Line Ownership: Hold responsibility for product line and quota management for a significant share of the product range or a specific customer segment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A four-year or graduate degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated competence through commensurate work experience.
• Experience: Typically 4-7 years of work experience, with a preference for experience in category management or P&L management. Alternatively, candidates with an advanced degree should have 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Skills: Product line management, including quota responsibilities for a significant product range or customer segment; defining and executing category business plans and growth strategies; monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales data to identify improvement areas; gathering, analyzing, and translating customer feedback and data into actionable improvements; developing and maintaining senior-level relationships with the sales force, external IT vendors, and other key partners; and demonstrating a broad understanding of product categories, business management, sales challenges, strategies, market analysis, and marketing engagement.
