What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Handle the accurate coding and data entry of all invoices, ensuring proper allocation for specific construction projects.
• Subcontractor Financials: Manage the entire subcontractor billing process, including the diligent processing of payments and maintaining document control, such as collecting and tracking lien releases.
• Owner Draw Requests: Prepare and submit comprehensive draw requests to project owners, gathering and providing all necessary accompanying schedules, invoice copies, and other required information.
• Audit Participation: Actively assist in job audits for assigned projects, ensuring all financial records are organized, accessible, and align with project documentation.
• Project Cost Reporting: Oversee critical job cost functions and develop detailed financial reports for specific projects, contributing to clear oversight and accountability within the accounting department.
• General Accounting Support: Perform other assigned duties as needed to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly within the construction industry.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an accounting or similar financial role within the construction sector.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Knowledge of AIA billings documentation is essential.
• Bonus: Experience with Vista Viewpoint or similar construction-specific software, and prior project accounting experience.
