Leadership Development Program | A. Duie Pyle, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time, accelerated training program, 24 weeks in duration, requiring eventual relocation within the company network after successful completion. A. Duie Pyle, Inc. has been the Northeast’s premier transportation and logistics provider since 1924, built on a “Service First” mentality that prioritizes exceeding the expectations of customers and employees. This program is specifically designed to cultivate the next generation of Pyle leaders, enabling them to contribute to and uphold this legacy of service excellence.

The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career / Leadership Development Trainee
• Type: Full-time (24-week program)
• Location: In-person, various locations within the Pyle network (initial placement near home, relocation required upon completion).

• Mission: To prepare and develop future leaders for A. Duie Pyle through an accelerated six-month training program, providing a strong understanding of the transportation industry and exposure to operations, project implementation, brokerage, and finance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Master core operations: Gain a deep understanding of freight handling and the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) business by working at a Pyle terminal and learning day and night operations.
• Acquire hands-on experience: Work various shifts on the dock and participate in truck ride-alongs to gain valuable practical experience within the transportation industry.
• Develop leadership skills: Shadow Pyle leaders to cultivate leadership abilities through on-the-job experiences, project assignments, and formal training sessions.
• Understand teamwork dynamics: Comprehend how every team member and role contributes to the overall operational success and Pyle’s “Service First” mentality.
• Engage with senior leadership: Spend time at the corporate office, participating in classroom learning and engaging directly with senior leadership to build industry knowledge and professional relationships.
• Explore diverse business functions: Learn about various areas of the business, including operations, project implementation, brokerage, and finance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any major is preferred.
• Experience: Prior professional work experience is required, which can include part-time roles, internships, or co-ops from any field or industry.
• Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Exhibit the ability to work effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Possess a positive, can-do attitude; Show a willingness to relocate anywhere within the Pyle network upon successful program completion.
• Bonus: Previous work experience, preferably in a supply chain, logistics, or transportation-related field.
