Category Manager | Montefiore Medical Center

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time, MON-FRI, 8:30 AM-5 PM
• Location: In-person, USA (New York), USA – Tarrytown
• Team: MSS – Sourcing 2
• Mission: Responsible for the end-to-end process of source-to-contract for clinical categories, ensuring appropriate performance and value from contracted medical surgical distribution partners and direct vendors.
• Tech Stack: ERP, Contract Management Software, Inventory Systems, GHX/EDI, MS office suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Drive the end-to-end source-to-contract process for assigned clinical categories within a healthcare setting, utilizing sourcing best practices.
• Develop: Craft and implement sourcing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve cost, quality, and desired outcomes.
• Analyze: Conduct market/spend analysis, benchmarking comparisons, and prepare competitive procurement documents (RFP/RFI) to identify savings opportunities.
• Negotiate: Direct supplier negotiations, manage contract development, oversee vendor performance, and ensure realization of identified savings.
• Oversee: Serve as the primary point of contact for all medical surgical distribution and contracting issues at both GPO and local levels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Science or Business Administration Degree.
• Experience: 4+ Years of Contract Management and/or Hospital Supply Chain Management Distribution experience within Medical Surgical, inpatient, or ambulatory settings.
• Skills: Healthcare spend contract management, GPO utilization, accounting principles (cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting), market and supplier research and analysis, value analysis.
• Bonus: Masters Degree.
