2027 Summer Internal Audit Internship- Remote | KeyBank

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at KeyBank, located remotely across the United States. KeyBank is a financial institution providing banking services. This role is crucial for providing an independent assessment of Key’s processes and risks, ensuring robust risk management practices, and advising on improvements. Interns will contribute to the oversight and enhancement of the bank’s operational integrity.

• Mission: To provide an independent assessment of KeyBank’s processes and risks by testing the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management practices, making recommendations, and monitoring remediation efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Participation: Gain insight into all phases of an audit (planning, fieldwork, and reporting) by being staffed on one or two audits, learning about various parts of the organization.
• Workflow Execution: Perform work assigned each week based on the current reviews in process on your assigned team, following the annual Audit Plan.
• Professional Development: Attend audit-specific training sessions and enterprise-wide Learning Labs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Network with other Internal Audit Interns and members of Internal Audit’s Senior Leadership Team.
• Capstone Presentation: Culminate the internship experience with a Spotlight presentation to Senior Leadership Team and Managers in Internal Audit, highlighting your contributions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level internship for students who have completed at least three years toward a four-year undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or other business-related fields, with anticipated graduation in or before May 2028.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through past work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
• Skills: Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Outstanding academic achievement, evidenced by a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25.
