Associate Accountant – Hope Plant | Tyson Foods
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person Associate Accountant role at Tyson Foods, located at the Hope Plant. Tyson Foods is seeking a detail-oriented professional to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information. This role is critical for efficient accounting operations and supports decision-making across various departments by completing recurring and ad hoc accounting activities, resolving issues, and delivering reliable financial data.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and reconcile accounting data using advanced Excel tools, formulas, PivotTables, lookups, and data-validation techniques.
• Financial Review: Review financial information for accuracy, identify trends and variances, investigate discrepancies, and translate findings into clear, actionable conclusions.
• Task Management: Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, monthly, and period-end accounting assignments to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to gather information, resolve issues, and support shared objectives.
• Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement by simplifying reports, strengthening controls, and developing more efficient accounting processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience commensurate with knowledge typically acquired through a four-year degree.
• Experience: While 6+ months of work experience is preferred, it is not required for this role.
• Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, strong analytical judgment, disciplined time management, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Bonus: Experience with SAP.
