Accounting & Finance Intern (Summer 2027) | Continental Resources

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Continental Resources, located in Oklahoma City, OK. Continental Resources is an independent oil and natural gas producer focused on exploring and developing resources across the United States. This internship offers students a valuable opportunity to apply their academic knowledge within an industry setting, providing essential support to various accounting and finance departments. Interns contribute to the company’s financial operations and accuracy, gaining practical experience and insight into the energy sector.

• Team: Support for departments within Continental’s Accounting/Finance areas including Treasury/Planning, Property Accounting, Joint Interest, Audit, Revenue, and Material Control.
• Mission: To provide essential accounting and financial support, applying core principles to ensure accurate data processing, analysis, and reporting across various operational functions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monthly Data Processing: Process monthly financial data, including inputting, coding, scanning, copying, and distributing reports and information.
• Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare journal entries, ensuring all applicable backup documentation, proposed accounts, and cost centers are included.
• Financial Information Analysis: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Sales and Billing Reconciliation: Analyze and account for all payments from oil and gas sales and review Joint Interest billings for compliance with agreements and industry guidelines.
• Dispute Resolution: Research, analyze, and resolve disputes with third-party working interest owners, operators, and vendors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Current enrollment in a 4-year college or university, working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience: Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications. Must be eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation.
• Skills: Strong communication skills (written and oral), proven ability to work as a team player, strong customer focus, and effective time management.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA.
