This is an Accounting Internship at Steel Dynamics, Inc., located in Columbus, MS, specifically within the SDI BioCarbon Solutions division. What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage core accounting operations by assisting with journal entries, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end or quarter-end close activities.
• Support financial planning and analysis by contributing to reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
• Ensure financial compliance and internal control integrity by validating records for internal and external audits and resolving discrepancies.
• Process and reconcile transactional accounting, including accounts payable and receivable, matching invoices, and managing vendor setups.
• Aid in capital asset management through fixed asset tracking, processing capital project invoices, and reconciling expense reports.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team, proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
