Data Support Analyst I | The Trade Desk

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at The Trade Desk, located remotely within the US, as part of a multinational team. This role is vital for transforming The Trade Desk’s proprietary data into reliable client segments and insights, directly contributing to effective advertising campaigns and supporting content creators globally.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build Segments: Construct custom segments for clients, ensuring accuracy, data quality, and compliance with policy throughout the process.
• Analyze Data: Write and execute complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data across TTD systems, combining large datasets and interpreting results to inform optimization strategies.
• Ensure Quality: Perform QA on segment builds and data outputs for accuracy and policy adherence before delivery, independently troubleshooting technical issues and providing clear documentation for escalations.
• Advise Stakeholders: Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for stakeholders, guiding segment strategy, data best practices, and audience design from intake to completion.
• Maintain Operations: Build, maintain, and enhance automations, scripts, and workflows that support segment creation and data operations, ensuring accuracy and process efficiency across teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (0-3 years), with a foundation in data, analytics, marketing technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 0-3 years of relevant work experience, proficient in Excel for data manipulation, including pivot tables and charts, and skilled at writing and running complex SQL queries.
• Skills: Expertise in complex SQL (multiple joins, temp tables, CTEs, CASE WHEN logic, nested queries), strong data analysis and validation abilities, clear communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences, creative problem-solving, and a commitment to data ethics and privacy.
• Bonus: Adaptable to shifting requirements, comfortable with new technologies and coding environments (like Databricks, Python, and AI-assisted tooling), self-motivated, and an excellent team player dedicated to collective improvement.
