Accounting Operations Intern 2027- REMOTE | Washington National Insurance Company
The Tone:
This is a paid internship at Washington National Insurance Company, which operates remotely with optional office access in Carmel, IN. This role allows an intern to work alongside Accounting Operations associates, contributing to the department’s professional day-to-day work and supporting critical financial processes.

• Mission: To support the Accounting Operations department by assisting with daily tasks, month-end and quarterly close, special projects, and process documentation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document key processes that support quarterly reporting and analysis.
• Assist with daily accounting operations tasks.
• Complete assigned special projects.
• Support month-end and quarterly close activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline, with status as a rising junior or rising senior, targeting graduation between December 2027 and June 2029.
• Experience: Availability to work 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks during the summer, specifically from May 17 through August 06, 2027. Candidates must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Skills: Experience with Co-Pilot, Co-Pilot Studio, Power BI, Alteryx, Power Automate, VBA, Denodo, and Microsoft 365 Ecosystem.
• Bonus: Prior internship experience, a demonstrated ability to balance education with a part-time job during the school year, and participation in university clubs. Preference for candidates located in the Central or Eastern US time zone, or a willingness to align with those business hours.
