Accounting Intern | United Center
The Tone:
This is an internship at United Center, located in Chicago, IL. United Center brings excitement to life through sports, entertainment, and community, serving as the home for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks and hosting over 200 events annually. In this role, the Accounting Intern will be crucial in supporting the Finance and Accounting team, ensuring accurate and organized financial records to help bring the next round of stories to life on campus. This position offers hands-on experience in financial operations within a major entertainment venue.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $19–$20 hourly
• Team: Finance and Accounting team
• Mission: Support the Finance and Accounting team with administrative, accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable responsibilities to ensure accurate and organized financial records.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Excel, Sage, DocuPeak
What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Organize and digitize historical financial documentation, including prior-year paper property tax installment bills.
• Audit Support: Facilitate the annual financial audit process by requesting, gathering, and organizing documentation for audit selections.
• Accounts Payable Management: Assist with maintaining the Accounts Payable inbox, routing invoices through DocuPeak, and supporting vendor file maintenance.
• Vendor & Customer Record Maintenance: Ensure active vendor records include current W-9 forms and contact information, request ACH details, and help maintain accurate customer files.
• Accounts Receivable Support: Apply incoming payments to open invoices in Sage, assist with aging reports, customer statements, and follow-up on past-due invoices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Willingness to learn accounting systems such as Sage and invoice routing tools such as DocuPeak.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, comfort working with financial documents and confidential information, strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
