Staff Accountant | Woda Cooper Companies, Inc.

This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, directly supporting the company’s growth and its mission to benefit seniors, veterans, and other economically challenged groups within communities. The ideal candidate will contribute to a team whose success is measured not only financially but also in the lives changed through their efforts.

• Team: Works closely with accounts payable specialists, senior staff accountants, accounting managers, and property managers.
• Mission: To ensure accurate financial record-keeping and support the daily accounting operations for a rapidly expanding affordable housing developer and owner.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft products (as a bonus).
What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile Bank Accounts: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for various accounts across different banking platforms.
• Manage Rental Postings: Prepare monthly postings for gross potential rent (GPR) to accurately book vacancies and rental losses across multiple communities.
• Approve Vendor Setups: Thoroughly review vendor set-up documents from the accounts payable team to ensure accuracy and provide final approval for system integration.
• Process Receivables: Handle the processing of account receivables received at the corporate office.
• Resolve Returned Checks: Conduct weekly reviews of returned checks, initiating communication with sites to obtain necessary copies and background information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience, if a Bachelor’s degree in accounting is not held.
• Skills: Strong computer skills, highly organized, ability to multi-task, and adaptability to changing work priorities.
• Bonus: Knowledge in Microsoft products.
