Accounting Associate | Affinity Group, Sales & Marketing Agency
The Tone:
This is a full-time Accounting Associate role at Affinity Group, a leading sales and marketing agency based at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid work schedule. Affinity Group is one of the fastest-growing food sales and marketing agencies, boasting a national presence and representing highly recognizable food brands across North America. This position plays a pivotal role in our monthly financial processes, focusing on transaction input, payment verification, and credit validation across multiple company entities (AGLLC, ACE, Britz, and S&H). We are seeking a curious, detail-oriented individual, whether fresh out of college or with a few years of experience, who is eager to grow and comfortable partnering with AI tools to enhance financial analysis, communication, and overall workflow efficiency.

• Mission: Proactively manage accounts, track and resolve outstanding financial items, ensure accurate transaction processing, and maintain financial integrity for multiple Affinity Group regions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Operations: Manage the full Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable cycle with precision and timeliness, including accurately entering numeric and alphanumeric information into systems.
• Treasury & Transactions: Support daily and monthly treasury functions, scanning deposits, saving document copies to SharePoint, and accurately translating transactions for posting in QuickBooks.
• Reconciliation & Quality: Conduct thorough account reconciliations, research and resolve commission discrepancies with urgency, and ensure process workflows are accurate for billing accounts.
• Client & Sales Support: Generate and submit billing invoices for reimbursable expenses to clients, determine allocations, and diligently follow up on payments, engaging directly with sales teams for high-volume trade show events.
• Month-End Reporting: Prepare monthly stats, metrics, and account reconciliations, reviewing account status to ensure accurate and timely payments, while triaging department emails and drafting communications using AI-assisted tools.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, possessing and applying fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience: Entry-level candidates (0-2 years’ experience) are welcome, demonstrating self-motivation, the ability to multi-task, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and follow through on open items until fully resolved.
• Skills: High proficiency in Excel, including using AI-assisted formulas and Power Query, working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, strong verbal and written communication, and comfort with or willingness to actively use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot and Claude as productivity partners.
• Bonus: Two or more years of professional experience, experience with Intuit Enterprise Suite or QuickBooks Online, hands-on experience with AI tools (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in a professional setting, or experience with automation applications such as SAP Concur or RAMP Expense Management.
