Assurance Internship – Spring 2028 | Boulay

This is a full-time internship at Boulay, located in Eden Prairie, MN. Boulay’s Assurance Department specializes in audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements for a variety of publicly traded and privately owned clients. This role is crucial for assisting clients through all stages of an engagement, providing hands-on experience and one-on-one training to support an intern’s professional development and career growth. • Mission: To participate in all phases of client engagements, assisting with financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations to ensure validity and accuracy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform: Compile, review, and audit financial statements for diverse clients.
• Participate: Engage in client engagements by auditing cash, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, PP&E, and debt maturity schedules, alongside revenue and expense testing.
• Verify: Confirm the validity and accuracy of client financial documents.
• Assist: Draft client communications and support special projects such as due diligence or mergers and acquisitions.
• Discuss: Participate in client meetings with key finance personnel, including CEOs, CFOs, and other management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, or 150 credit hours. Must possess an awareness of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of attestation standards.
• Experience: Completion of intermediate accounting course(s) and some advanced accounting and/or audit course(s) by the time of the internship. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills are required.
• Skills: Exemplary communication and organizational skills, a strong desire to learn and develop professionally, motivation to serve clients, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
