Fund Accountant | Gen II Fund Services

The Tone:
This is a full-time role as a Fund Accountant at Gen II Fund Services, operating under a hybrid schedule with two days in a US office and three days remote. Gen II Fund Services stands as one of the largest global independent private equity fund administrators, expertly managing over $1 trillion in private capital for its diverse clientele. The company provides private fund sponsors with a premier combination of skilled personnel, robust processes, and advanced technology, essential for effectively navigating operational infrastructure, intricate financial reporting, and critical investor communications. This Fund Accountant position is vital to this mission, directly contributing to the accurate and compliant financial administration across various private capital fund types. You will be part of the most experienced and longest-tenured team in the private equity fund administration industry, playing a key role in servicing significant investors in the asset class within an institutional-grade, SOC-1 Type 2 certified operational environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Process cash transactions and conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and liquidity tracking.
• General Ledger Management: Record all necessary journal entries and meticulously maintain the general ledger to uphold comprehensive financial records.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements and accompanying footnotes, alongside setting up and organizing supporting workpapers and checklists.
• Investor Services: Compile precise partner capital account information and manage the processing of investor capital calls and distributions.
• Audit Coordination: Serve as a key liaison with the client’s independent auditors, providing necessary documentation and support for their review.

The Must-Haves
• Background: You hold a Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a specialization in accounting, indicating foundational academic knowledge in the field.
• Experience: You possess the capability to perform core accounting services, including the preparation and processing of financial transactions and the creation of financial statements with all necessary supporting documentation.
• Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in preparing financial statements, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, and accurate transaction processing.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree specifically in accounting is preferred, demonstrating a focused educational foundation for this role.
