Staff Accountant | DryWater

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at DryWater, located in Irvine, CA. This Staff Accountant role is vital for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy and efficiency as the company experiences rapid growth. It offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the financial health and operational success of an ambitious CPG brand.

• Mission: Support the day-to-day accounting operations to ensure financial accuracy and enable company growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Manage the full retail transaction lifecycle, from purchase order and shipment to invoice and payment, with a focus on EDI transactions and documentation.
• Support inventory accounting activities, including COGS reporting, inventory reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, preparing financial analysis and supporting audits and tax preparation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure accurate transaction recording and help improve accounting processes and internal controls.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, with a solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Skills: Strong Excel proficiency including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and pivot tables; exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP or accounting systems, EDI, retail accounting, inventory accounting, CPG, or manufacturing is a plus.
