The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Carrier, located in Shanghai, China. Carrier builds a range of products, including chillers, that are essential for various applications like data centers. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful manufacturing of chiller products, improving their design for better performance and cost-efficiency, and resolving quality issues to support both manufacturing and aftermarket needs.

• Mission: Owns the manufacturing support, design improvement, project execution, cost reduction, and quality resolution for chiller products.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manufacturing Support: Utilize technical knowledge to achieve duty products manufacturing in the factory based on drawings, specifications, and non-standard order requirements.
• Design Enhancement: Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineers to suggest design improvements that enhance chiller performance, reduce cost, and improve manufacturability, serviceability, and quality.
• Project Management: Provide comprehensive support for Data Center application projects, including document creation, meeting participation, and product selection.
• Cost Reduction: Work with cross-functional teams to implement cost-down projects, which includes supplier selection, qualification planning, and saving calculation.
• Quality Resolution: Troubleshoot issues at job sites and support the aftermarket team to resolve chiller quality problems, leading design-related quality improvement projects when necessary.
• Testing Assistance: Support various chiller tests, including witness tests, energy saving tests, and other project-required testing procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Master or Bachelor degree with a major in HVAC or a related engineering area.
• Experience: Not specified, but this role requires a foundational understanding of engineering principles as applied to product design and manufacturing.
• Skills: Strong communication skills primarily in English, proven teamwork abilities, and proficiency with MS Office tools, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel VBA.
• Bonus: Experience with FORTRAN/C/MatLab/Python software for engineering simulation, optimization, and data analysis capability is preferred. Candidates should also possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and good organizational skills with attention to detail. English skills must include oral, reading, and writing fluency, with CET-6 certification.
