What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Support: Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities for collection accounts.
• Payment Processing: Process and apply consumer payments and other financial transactions accurately.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unapplied funds, and account balance issues.
• Payment Monitoring: Monitor and resolve payment issues such as chargebacks, returned payments, and NSF transactions.
• Financial Reporting: Support month-end closing procedures, reconciliations, and financial reporting tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles is essential. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, encompassing accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, payment processing, or similar financial operations.
• Skills: Strong data entry skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are essential. You will need excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required for researching discrepancies and identifying errors within financial records. Furthermore, excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
• Bonus: Prior experience in general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and account reconciliations, payment posting or cash application, financial reporting, banking or financial services, accounting software, collection agency or revenue cycle management, or medical, legal, commercial, government, or consumer financial operations.
