Regional Human Resources Director | Nexstar Media Group
The Tone:
This is a Hybrid role, located near a Nexstar Broadcast station in the North East region of the US. Nexstar Media Group is a leader in the media industry, providing overall strategic and operational human resources leadership for multiple work locations. This highly visible position is critical for driving key initiatives across HR functions and supporting approximately 1,800 union and non-union employees. The Director will partner with business units and lead through change, ensuring HR expertise supports Nexstar’s business strategy.

• Mission: To provide strategic and operational HR leadership, aligning people strategies with business objectives and ensuring compliance across multiple work locations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide strategic HR leadership across assigned Nexstar work locations, aligning people strategies with business objectives.
• Drive strategic HR initiatives related to planning, coaching, employee development, compliance, and performance management for represented and non-represented workforce.
• Advise senior leaders and management teams as a trusted coach and partner.
• Resolve employee and labor relations matters by partnering with Labor & Employment Counsel, including conducting investigations and grievance resolutions.
• Manage HR operations regionally, including workflows and cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring compliance with all employment laws.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration or a related field, or an equivalent amount of experience required; 10+ years of progressive HR experience in leadership positions.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership responsibility across multiple locations; proven experience supporting managers in complex organizations.
• Skills: Ability to create relationships with client management teams and be collaborative; ability to communicate and champion HR and company processes utilizing formal presentation skills; excellent organization, facilitation, and creative problem-solving skills; demonstrated knowledge of applicable State and Federal employment laws.
• Bonus: Advanced degree in HR management or business administration preferred; experience in a union environment a plus; previous experience in television or entertainment industry a plus.
