Finance Intern | Aerospike

The Tone:
This is a Finance Intern position at Aerospike, a Bay Area–based company with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days in the office, typically Tuesday through Thursday. Aerospike builds a real-time database for mission-critical use cases like machine learning and generative AI, powering millions of transactions per second with millisecond latency. This role offers a deep dive into modern corporate finance, providing hands-on experience in financial planning, data automation, and SaaS metrics. It is crucial for ensuring that as the company scales, its financial infrastructure keeps pace, and leadership has the essential data and insights needed to drive the business forward effectively.

The TL;DR

• Type: Seasonal (approx. 30 hours/week for 10-12 weeks)

• Team: Part of the Finance team, collaborating with FP&A and Business Intelligence.
• Mission: Ensuring Aerospike’s financial infrastructure and strategic planning keep pace with company growth by providing critical insights and data to leadership.
• Tech Stack: NetSuite, Ramp, Drivetrain, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, FP&A and Business Intelligence (BI) software, AI-enabled tools, Tableau, PowerBI, Looker.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Generate management presentations, monthly financial reviews, and reports for senior leadership.
• Revenue Operations: Analyze usage-based billing data, identify discrepancies, and support the development of automation tools to enhance billing accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Data Management: Utilize FP&A and Business Intelligence software for creating reports, conducting financial analysis, and maintaining data reliability for reporting.
• Process Modernization: Contribute to process modernization initiatives, including the exploration and implementation of AI-enabled tools and automated finance workflows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed (2026) a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: Proven strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with meticulous attention to detail; demonstrated proficiency in applying advanced formulas and data modeling within Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear explanation of financial concepts; adaptability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bonus: Prior internship or relevant coursework in corporate finance, accounting, or data analytics; familiarity with modern ERP or financial planning systems; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker); a strong interest in the enterprise software/SaaS industry.
