ACCOUNTANT I | Tulsa Housing Authority

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist experienced Accountants in performing professional accounting and reporting functions for various THA programs and non-THA entities, ensuring proper accounting for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
• Online Submissions: Aid in the preparation and submission of essential online reporting functions, including REAC FDS, Section 8 VMS, PHAS, and SEMAP submissions.
• Budgetary Support: Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and final budgets for assigned THA and non-THA programs, and track financial performance against approved budgets.
• Inventory Management: Help with the audit and reconciliation of the annual physical inventory, comparing recorded records for fixed assets and warehouse materials.
• General Ledger Operations: Perform assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual duties, which include analyzing general ledger accounts, creating necessary journal adjustments, and processing payment requests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university, or four years of related experience and/or training in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Up to four years of related experience and/or training in accounting, demonstrating an understanding of core accounting functions.
• Skills: Ability to apply Housing and Urban Development accounting regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, proficiency in analyzing general ledger accounts, and skilled use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Bonus: Must possess a valid Oklahoma Drivers License.
