Staff Accountant | Trident Trust

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Trident Trust, located in Atlanta. Trident Trust operates a thriving office that provides specialized fund services to a diverse client base, including private equity, hedge, real estate, venture capital, and digital asset funds. This Staff Accountant position is critical for delivering basic full-cycle accounting support to the fund accounting business line, ensuring precise and compliant financial operations for the funds serviced.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Maintain general ledgers and organize supporting files such as bank statements, invoices, and investor documents.
• Performance Reporting: Calculate monthly/quarterly net asset value (NAV) and performance returns, then deliver financial packages to fund managers.
• Financial Closing: Perform period-end closes, complete special reporting specific to each fund, and distribute capital statements to investors.
• Investor Compliance: Review new investor subscription packets, perform due diligence, and conduct background checks for anti-money laundering compliance.
• Operational & Audit Support: Provide daily operational support for funds, including banking services and preparing financial statements, footnotes, and audit support files.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a foundational understanding of GAAP; suitable for an entry-level professional.
• Experience: 0-2 years of related accounting experience.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel, including navigating tabs, using basic formulas, and formatting; strong problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Bonus: Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups); experience with Advent Geneva, QuickBooks, or Allvue a+; ability to function effectively under pressure with competing priorities and strict deadlines; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
