Financial Analyst | S3 AeroDefense

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at S3 AeroDefense. This position supports the Finance Department by performing a blend of accounting and financial analysis, with a focus on revenue recognition for long-term, percentage-of-completion contracts. This role is critical for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and delivering actionable insights to inform strategic and operational decisions.

• Mission: Support the Finance Department by performing a mix of accounting and financial analysis activities, including revenue recognition for long-term, percentage-of-completion contracts.
• Tech Stack: ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word

What You’ll Actually Do
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) at the segment and consolidated level in accordance with US GAAP.
Revenue Recognition: Apply and support compliance with ASC 606 for long-term, percentage-of-completion contracts, including calculating completion percentages and tracking contract assets and liabilities.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing segment-level and consolidated budgets, analyze variances against actual results, and contribute to weekly and monthly revenue forecasts.
Management Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, including key metrics, cash flow trends, and materials for Board of Directors presentations.
Audit & Compliance: Complete standard monthly close activities, maintain work papers for internal controls, and assist with external audits by providing documentation and explanations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: 3–5 years in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis, with specific exposure to long-term contract accounting and percentage-of-completion (ASC 606) revenue recognition.
• Skills: Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, and internal financial controls. Proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Possess strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
• Bonus: CPA or Master’s in Accounting/Finance is a plus, as is experience within the aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or construction industries.
