Assurance Intern – Winter 2027 (Baton Rouge) | BDO USA

• Mission: Assist in problem solving and fact-finding within the Assurance practice, gaining hands-on perspective on firm practices.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Learn and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
• Methodology: Utilize BDO’s specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Support: Provide various support functions to the audit staff during engagement.
• Communication: Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Documentation: Prepare and document work in working papers utilizing BDO’s specific tools and templates.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting; Entry-Level career.
• Experience: No specific years required; leadership experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Bonus: Pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting, actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
