This is an unpaid internship opportunity at Mission Technologies, a division of HII, located in Honolulu, HI (Hybrid). HII’s Mission Technologies division is a global team of over 7,000 professionals delivering advanced national security solutions, including C5ISR, AI, Big Data, cyber operations, synthetic training environments, and fleet sustainment. This SkillBridge internship offers transitioning active-duty military personnel a vital chance to gain real-world experience in program management within a civilian contracting firm, with the potential to transition into a full-time role after the internship. The role is designed to align a service member’s military experience with industry requirements, supporting their career transition.

• Team: Reports to a designated Mission Technologies Program Manager within All-Domain Operations (ADO).
• Mission: To learn program management principles, technologies, and core operational functions within a civilian contracting firm, fostering a cross-organizational understanding of industry operations for transitioning military personnel.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn and describe core functions of program management, including operations, annual operating plans, and business development strategies within a civilian contracting firm.
• Gain a functional understanding of program schedule, performance, and risk identification/mitigation for initiatives across systems, tools, equipment, and software.
• Be oriented to the profit and loss aspects of large, complex programs, training on all phases from inception through completion.
• Support program activities related to customer contact, managing manpower support levels, and tracking cost, schedule, and technical performance for company programs.
• Understand federal contracting procedures, including existing contract vehicles, and how operations interact with business development, capture management, and proposals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Active-duty US military service member within the final 180 days of service, eligible for the DoD SkillBridge Program, with a background in program or project management.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with the most recent experience within the last 2 years. A relevant bachelor’s degree is desired, or an additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• Skills: Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
• Bonus: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph preferred. Understanding of SOFA regulations, ROK-US environment, and cultural considerations for Korea operations.
