Compensation Analyst | HMSA

As a Compensation Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, and administration of the company’s corporate compensation philosophy, strategy, and employee salary administration programs. What You’ll Actually Do
• Job Description Evaluation: Administer the job description process by reviewing evaluation requests, content, and questionnaires to determine appropriate job leveling and FLSA exemption status, ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Salary Program Administration: Administer HMSA’s compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and bonuses, ensuring all salary actions align with established guidelines and the company’s pay philosophy.
• Market Competitiveness Analysis: Participate in salary surveys, identify benchmark job matches, collect and organize salary data, and analyze results to support and validate salary adjustment proposals and recommendations.
• Internal Equity & Reporting: Develop reports and review salary data to conduct internal salary equity analyses, and assist in the development of annual salary structure proposals and merit increase matrix guidelines.
• Consultation & Projects: Provide leaders with consultative advice on compensation strategies, career path development, and strategic job alignment, while also participating in or leading various departmental projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a core understanding of compensation principles and practices.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of related professional experience, including basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
• Skills: Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
