What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare Financial Statements: Prepare and review financial statements for transportation insurance accounts, contributing to accurate financial reporting.
• Manage Journal Entries: Post and reconcile journal entries, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
• Process Premiums and Payments: Assist with premium accounting, billing, and payment processing for transportation insurance clients.
• Maintain Financial Records: Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate ledgers and diligently track receivables and payables.
• Analyze Account Activity: Analyze account activity, identify discrepancies, collaborate with team members to resolve issues, and provide clear, timely financial information to management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-Level career experience with a strong foundational knowledge in Finance and Accounting.
• Experience: Practical experience preparing and interpreting financial statements, posting and reconciling journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and related tools used for billing, reporting, and data management; Solid analytical skills for identifying discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote environment; Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborative team work.
• Bonus: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; Experience in insurance or transportation-related accounting is a plus.
