The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level Staff Accountant role, located onsite in Shrewsbury, NJ, with no remote or hybrid work options. The position is with a well-established professional services firm that is seeking to expand its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or an early-career professional to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting, learning from an experienced team and growing their career. The Staff Accountant will contribute directly to the firm’s financial operations and process improvements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare journal entries and support month-end closing activities.
• Reconcile: Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Support: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist: Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation tasks.
• Maintain: Maintain accurate accounting records.
• Research: Research and resolve account discrepancies as they arise.
• Participate: Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, suitable for an entry-level professional.
• Experience: 0 to 4 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills.
