Management Trainee | Dohrn

The Tone:
This is a full-time, network-wide Management Trainee role at Dohrn, requiring approximately 50% travel throughout the Midwest. Dohrn is a complete Midwestern transportation partner, offering less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services across a 10-state service area. This role is crucial for building operational knowledge, leadership capability, and practical experience within the company, directly preparing individuals for future operations leadership opportunities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Participate in structured training covering key areas of LTL terminal and freight operations.
• Network Support: Travel throughout the Dohrn network to support operational needs and gain experience across multiple terminal environments.
• Dock Operations: Learn and support dock operations, including managing freight flow, load quality, cut times, workplace organization, dock setup, and yard checks.
• Equipment Operation: Gain hands-on experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, other material-handling equipment, and operate a non-CDL vehicle for pickups, deliveries, and business needs.
• Leadership Development: Assist with pre-shift meetings, daily projections, staffing and workflow coordination, and operational planning activities alongside operations leaders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 4-year College graduate in Supply Chain Management or another applicable field.
• Experience: Valid Driver License with a clean driving history.
• Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform simple mathematical calculations; operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment; safely enter and exit various vehicles; capable of lifting 50 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs infrequently; ability to perform standing, walking, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending, and reaching motions; must pass NON-DOT physical examination, functional screen, and pre-employment drug screen.
• Bonus: Must pass certification in forklift safety and hazardous material handling.
