Management Services Officer SC-8 | World Food Programme

The Tone:
This is a Service Contract role with the World Food Programme, located in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is open only to Ukrainian nationals or residents with a legal work permit. WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, dedicated to saving lives in emergencies and building pathways to peace and prosperity for those recovering from conflict and disasters. This position plays a crucial part within the Management Services Unit, supporting the delivery of essential, client-focused services that enable WFP to effectively distribute food assistance to beneficiaries across Ukraine, directly contributing to the mission of saving and changing lives.

• Mission: To provide high-quality, value-for-money management services that enable WFP to efficiently deliver food assistance to beneficiaries in Ukraine.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Planning & Policy: Assist with preparing Management Services components for WFP’s Country Strategic Planning and Resource Planning, and support the implementation of functional annual plans, policies, procedures, standards, and systems to achieve strategic objectives.
• Data & Analysis: Collate relevant data and prepare basic analysis to inform efficient planning and decision-making for operations and services within the Management Services portfolio.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective working relationships with WFP’s internal and external stakeholders, including other UN agencies and government entities, to facilitate data exchange and identify areas for improved operational alignment and cooperation.
• Operational Enhancement: Utilize digital tools and applications to their fullest potential, collaborating with technical experts to adopt innovative technologies, thereby enhancing operational workflows, customer service, and suggesting improvements for Occupational Safety and Health.
• Capacity Building & Emergency Support: Support the organization and design of learning initiatives to build the capacity of WFP staff and partners in Management Services regulations, and follow standard emergency preparedness and response practices to facilitate rapid resource deployment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced University degree in Business/Public Administration, Engineering, or other relevant fields relating to office management and administration. A First University degree combined with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses is also accepted.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of postgraduate professional experience in Public Administration, Management, or another relevant field. Experience or training in at least one Management Services line of business (e.g., asset, facilities, fleet, or travel management) is required.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to derive insights and conclusions from data, trends, and performance metrics, coupled with proficiency in utilizing digital tools and applications.
• Language: Fluency (level C) in both English and Ukrainian languages.
