Billing Analyst | Insight Global

The Tone:
This is an intermediate-level, full-time Billing Analyst position at Insight Global, located in Alexandria, VA, with a hybrid work schedule requiring 3 days in office. This role is a critical team member within the Finance Directorate, responsible for the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of government contract billing functions. The position ensures the integrity of the receivables function by maintaining compliance with Federal and state laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Your work directly supports the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and contributes to the financial health and compliance of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare and monitor government contract billings in accordance with FAR, contract terms, and guidelines, while resolving any associated issues and maintaining appropriate files.
• Maintain a strong understanding of Federal and state laws, regulations, accounting principles, and practices to ensure compliance and apply this knowledge to all position responsibilities.
• Prepare assigned general ledger reconciliations, timely resolving open items, and conducting analyses of accounts as requested.
• Assist in compiling and analyzing receivables audit responses prior to their submission to outside auditors.
• Support the Accounts Receivable Supervisor by providing assistance with contract billings, including unbilled, and by responding to internal and external billing-related inquiries.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BS degree, preferably in Accounting, or in a related field with coursework in Accounting; this is an intermediate level professional accountant position.
• Experience: 3+ years of work experience in accounting, finance, or government contracting; familiarity with general business practices.
• Skills: Experience with DELTEK/Costpoint software; strong understanding of Federal and state laws and regulations; current working knowledge of accounting principles and practices; ability to prepare journal entries with supporting documentation and written descriptions.
