Onboarding Specialist | Taxually
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Taxually, located in a remote/hybrid setup. Taxually is a leading tax technology company that provides innovative compliance solutions for businesses globally. The company’s platform streamlines complex tax processes, helping companies navigate intricate global tax regulations while minimizing administrative burden as a rapidly growing fintech SaaS company. This role is crucial for owning the complete client onboarding journey, ensuring a smooth transition from initial setup to confident ongoing tax filings for new LumaTax clients.

• Mission: Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for new Taxually LumaTax clients.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Onboarding Kickoff: Run onboarding kickoff meetings, establish clear timelines, and coordinate effectively with both new clients and internal teams.
• Input Validation: Collect and validate essential onboarding inputs such as nexus knowledge, jurisdiction familiarity, filing frequencies, sales tax registrations, third-party credentials, historical data, and transaction formats.
• Configuration & QA: Configure and thoroughly QA client setups, verifying that filing calendars and compliance obligations align precisely with jurisdiction records.
• Data Translation: Translate diverse client data into the specific format required for accurate tax return preparation, proactively identifying and flagging any data gaps early.
• Client Education: Educate clients comprehensively on Taxually’s filing procedures, critical deadlines, required inputs, and ongoing compliance responsibilities like license renewal.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed onboarding SOPs, checklists, and internal documentation to ensure process efficiency and consistency.
• Communication Management: Manage onboarding tickets and all client communication, ensuring adherence to specified service level agreements (SLAs).
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an early career role for professionals with a foundational understanding of client onboarding, implementation, or customer operations within a technology context.
• Experience: 1–3 years of direct experience in onboarding, implementation, or customer operations, particularly with a background in onboarding clients to third-party Department of Revenue accounts and navigating various tax jurisdictions.
• Skills: Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in working with structured data, including tasks like CSV report analysis, field mapping, and basic data reconciliation.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to indirect tax concepts such as sales tax, VAT, or GST, or familiarity with e-commerce platforms and ERP data exports.
