Senior Account Manager, Special Loans & Restructuring | TD Bank
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at TD Bank, located in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. TD Equipment Finance Canada (TDEF) delivers specialized equipment financing solutions to business clients. This role is part of the Loan Resolution Group (LRG), a team dedicated to supporting customers facing financial difficulty while safeguarding the Bank’s interests. As a Senior Account Manager, you will tackle complex problem-solving, negotiation, and relationship management for higher-risk accounts, playing a critical role in maximizing recovery and protecting the Bank’s portfolio objectives.

• Team: Loan Resolution Group (LRG) within TD Equipment Finance Canada (TDEF), reporting to the Senior Credit Manager, Loan Resolution Group & Equipment Management Group.
• Mission: Manage a portfolio of higher-risk or impaired TDEF accounts, develop practical restructuring and recovery strategies, protecting the Bank and maximizing recovery outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of higher-risk or impaired TDEF accounts, developing practical restructuring and recovery strategies.
• Credit Adjudication: Assess and recommend/adjudicate credit applications with clear risk analysis, appropriate structure, and due diligence.
• Client Negotiation: Lead difficult conversations and negotiate practical repayment, restructuring, or settlement solutions in a fair and commercially sound manner.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify deterioration early, acting with urgency and assertiveness to reduce loss exposure and protect TD’s position.
• Recovery Maximization: Improve economic outcomes by applying risk-based pricing, disciplined restructuring, and recovery strategies that maximize funds recovered.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Senior level experience in commercial credit or equipment finance.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Commercial Credit, Commercial Banking, Equipment Finance, Special Loans, Late Stage Collections, Restructuring or Workout. Experience with impaired loans, financial restructuring, insolvency proceedings, enforcement, recovery strategy or asset realization is a strong asset.
• Skills: Strong financial statement analysis, credit writing, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship management skills. Sound judgment and strong communication skills.
• Bonus: Sound knowledge of equipment finance products, collateral valuation, documentation, and risk mitigation practices is preferred. Bilingual French and English capability is required for supporting clients and partners across Canada.
