Actuarial Analyst III | TD Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time Actuarial Analyst III role at TD Bank, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. • Mission: Implement pricing strategies, coach junior actuaries, and ensure profitability and regulatory compliance for general insurance products.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Regional and Residential Pricing: Review and update pricing algorithms for regional auto (ON, QC) or residential lines to support business objectives toward profitability and growth. Generate ideas in the development of strategies to accelerate profitable growth and execute on their implementation, including submitting filing documentation to regulatory bodies where required.
• Pricing Optimization: Implement pricing optimization strategies across personal lines. Build and apply models and optimization techniques to recommend premium adjustments, and track and report on the performance of deployed strategies, identifying areas for improvement.
• Risk Sharing Pool (RSP) Strategy: Assist in centralizing and optimizing RSP cession strategy at a national level. Support the achievement of financial objectives for each pool and analyze cession results and pool performance, providing recommendations for optimal outcomes.
• Affinity Market Group (AMG) Management: Continuously review and update group discounts to support affinity-related pricing and business objectives. Monitor affinity group profitability to inform pricing decisions and review and update profit-sharing strategies to support AMG regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Pricing Governance and Compliance: Support internal product and pricing initiatives from the initial business case to rate filings. Support the development and adherence to pricing controls, ensuring proper governance, and contribute to FSRA accreditation, including the Bias and Fairness pillar, as well as the continuous improvement of Usage Based Insurance (UBI) pricing strategy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: University degree in Actuarial Science or a related field with completion of minimum SOA (P, FM) and CAS exams. This is a senior-level position focused on implementing pricing strategies and coaching junior actuaries.
• Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
• Skills: Excellent knowledge of Excel; proficiency and interest for programming, notably with SQL and R; strong aptitude for teamwork; autonomous and resilient work; shows initiative and creativity.
• Bonus: Working toward FCIA/FCAS designation; prior experience with predictive modeling.
