This is a full-time, hybrid role at Auto-Owners Insurance, based in Lansing, MI. After initial in-person training, this position offers the flexibility to work from home up to three days per week. What You’ll Actually Do
• Determine: Ascertain proper classifications, premium exposure, and scope of operations applicable to the policyholder based on the audit information obtained.
• Understand: Become familiar with premium auditing policies, procedures, and objectives to comprehend their meaning and use.
• Communicate: Engage effectively with policyholders, independent agents, and other employees through verbal and/or written means.
• Provide: Offer underwriting consultation on proper classification issues to support accurate policy management.
• Assist: Support the team by performing other duties as assigned to ensure departmental efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a Bachelor degree; equivalent military, insurance, or other direct experience will also be considered. This is an entry-level career opportunity. The ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is a mandatory requirement.
• Experience: An aptitude for basic math and accounting is essential for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrate above average written and verbal communication skills; Capable of organizing and interpreting policy data; Possess the ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
• Bonus: Prior experience in commercial insurance with knowledge of classifications is preferred.
