Store Leader (Manager) Trainee | 7-Eleven

The Tone:

This trainee position is designed to develop future Store Leaders who are the heart and soul of the store. Successful trainees will learn to execute merchandising and marketing initiatives, drive profitability, develop the entire store team, and ensure customers receive exceptional service every day.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Pay: $18–$22 hourly
• Team: Store leadership team, including Store Leader and Assistants.
• Mission: To learn and contribute to executing merchandising and marketing initiatives, driving profitability, developing the store team, and ensuring customers are well taken care of.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching for all store employees, ensuring they can confidently provide excellent service.
• Talent Development: Focus on identifying qualified applicants, developing future leaders within the store, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity to maintain high team retention and foster a strong work environment.
• Store Operations: Oversee and implement all merchandising and marketing programs, ensuring the store is presentable, all products are in-stock, and complying with health and sanitation procedures.
• Financial Management: Utilize P&L and other store reports to understand performance and affect positive change in operations, while effectively managing cash handling and fuel transactions.
• Customer Engagement: Actively promote the rewards loyalty program to enhance customer engagement and ensure customers are well taken care of during every visit.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires previous supervisory experience, indicating a foundation in leading teams and operations within a retail or service environment.
• Experience: Candidates should possess at least one year of retail management experience. Alternatively, a High School diploma or GED is preferred for candidates without this specific experience. Demonstrated ability to use P&L statements and various store reports to drive operational improvements and manage cash handling, fuel transactions, and loyalty program promotions is essential.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for effective team leadership and customer interaction, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities. Proficient computer knowledge is required. The role demands the ability to multi-task efficiently, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. A valid Driver’s License from the state of residence, with automotive liability insurance, is also required for employment.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
