Staff Accountant | Lantern

This Staff Accountant role is critical in supporting Lantern’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Close Processes: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations, including bank and cash, and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, investigate account variances, and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Operational Support: Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed, and monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. This role is ideal for an early-career professional seeking hands-on general ledger accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience: Proficient in Excel.
• Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals.
• Bonus: High attention to detail for accuracy in data entry and reconciliations, strong analytical thinking for investigating variances and problem-solving, accountability and ownership for assigned accounts, and adaptability to a fast-paced or changing environment with the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
