• Mission: To learn and manage the operational aspects of freight movement, driver compliance, and customer service to ensure safe, timely, and efficient logistics.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Relationship Building: Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and reliable outside carriers to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Operational Coverage: Fill in for absent or unavailable personnel, assist with special projects, and learn to provide training and orientation to drivers and employees on internal and customer systems.
• Performance Analysis: Become proficient in maximizing fleet operations efficiency and profitability, measuring key performance indicators, and creating and presenting customer-specific reports and financial analyses.
• Asset & Load Management: Gain knowledge in managing inventory, company assets, customer pools, and driver assignments to balance equipment in the market.
• Compliance & Resolution: Learn to manage yard duties, coordinate with maintenance, maintain the company’s safety culture, ensure DOT compliance, and resolve service issues or mechanical problems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, or Supply Chain.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience if holding a High School Diploma/GED.
• Skills: Willingness to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends, ability to travel to account, customer, and company event locations, and willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.
• Bonus: Experience managing a team, ability to anticipate and effectively deal with conflicts, skill in analyzing situations to make productive decisions, adaptability to changing environments, and strong relationship-building and communication skills.
