Manager in Training – Career Path to General Manager | Let’s Play Soccer – Centennial
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Let’s Play Soccer, located in Jenison, MI. The company’s mission is to unite people for the love of indoor soccer, making a positive impact on their lives through the game and in the community through acts of service. This Manager in Training position is a critical step in a leadership journey, focused on learning to run a high-performing facility by building strong teams, growing revenue, and creating great experiences for every guest. The role directly contributes to the company’s promise of doing everything for players except playing the game, and offers significant professional development towards a General Manager position.

• Team: Reports to the General Manager and supports facility staff.
• Mission: To learn, lead, and operate a high-performing indoor soccer facility, delivering exceptional experiences and fostering community through the beautiful game.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Team Operations: Recruit, train, schedule, and coach facility staff effectively, with guidance from the General Manager.
• Drive Revenue Growth: Actively support initiatives such as league registration, membership sales, and developing local partnerships.
• Oversee Daily Operations: Assist in the comprehensive management of facility scheduling, payroll, inventory, safety protocols, and general maintenance.
• Ensure Guest Experience: Consistently deliver great experiences by greeting players, promptly resolving issues, and helping every guest feel valued.
• Manage Professional Development: Proactively track personal progress, seek hands-on coaching and mentorship, and prepare for promotion to General Manager.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; possess leadership or supervisory experience within sports, retail, hospitality, or operations contexts; aspiring to a general management role.
• Experience: Proven track record in sales or customer service functions; minimum age of 18 years; willingness and availability to work required evenings and weekends, including shifts from 4 pm to 1 am on weekdays and 6 am to 1 am on weekends.
• Skills: Demonstrated capability in team leadership and coaching; strong customer service and sales aptitude; practical operational management skills including scheduling, inventory control, and maintenance oversight; effective problem-solving and issue resolution abilities.
• Bonus: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English; a personal background or strong interest in soccer or team sports; a genuine passion for leading people and expanding program offerings.
