Administrative Accounting Assistant | CFS

The Tone:
This is an onsite role at CFS, located in Dayton, OH, supporting one of our clients in a critical capacity. CFS connects talented professionals with leading companies to build successful teams. This position is vital for maintaining the client’s financial accuracy and ensuring the smooth, efficient operation of their administrative and accounting functions. The successful candidate will join a collaborative environment, contributing directly to daily financial processes and administrative tasks while being supported in their professional development within the accounting field.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Accounts Payable: Daily entry of approximately 20 AP invoices.
• Reconcile Credit Cards: Perform accurate credit card reconciliations.
• Manage Communications: Answer and professionally direct phone calls.
• Support Project Documentation: Assist with submittals for construction projects.
• Provide General Administration: Offer general administrative support to the accounting team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. This role requires a strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and the unique administrative and accounting needs within the construction industry. Candidates must demonstrate an aptitude for supporting complex financial and project-related documentation.
• Experience: 1+ year of dedicated experience in an Administrative Accounting Assistant or similar support role. Mandatory experience includes handling Accounts Payable functions and working specifically within the construction industry, where project submittals and related documentation are common.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in record-keeping and financial entries. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly for data entry and reporting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with team members and handling phone calls professionally. Proven ability to multitask effectively and manage various administrative and accounting duties concurrently. A proactive eagerness to learn new processes, take initiative, and assume ownership of assigned tasks.
• Bonus: Experience with accounting software.
