A+E Global Media, a joint venture of the Hearst Corporation and The Walt Disney Company, is a global media company known for delivering great entertainment. This position is vital for the Finance department, ensuring the seamless operation of our Media Solutions (Ad Sales) business by managing critical back-office functions. The Accounting Specialist directly impacts our bottom line by ensuring timely and accurate billing, efficient cash application, and effective resolution of outstanding receivables for our entire Ad Sales customer base.

What You’ll Actually Do
• AR Management: Oversee and support all domestic Ad Sales accounts receivable activities, monitoring billing, cash application, and outstanding receivables across Linear and Digital advertising revenue streams.
• Account Integrity: Monitor and analyze Accounts Receivable aging reports, investigate outstanding items, and execute manual cash applications, billing adjustments, and account corrections to maintain data integrity.
• Collaborative Resolution: Partner with internal teams such as Sales, Traffic, Revenue Management, and external customers to investigate and resolve discrepancies, supporting an efficient order-to-cash process.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive AR reports, aging summaries, cash reports, and detailed account reconciliations for monthly management review.
• Close Cycle Support: Assist with critical month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis of open receivables.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years in Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Finance, or a related business function.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Interest in learning the media advertising business, strong customer service skills, and a proactive approach to leveraging technology and AI for efficiency.
