Staff Accountant | Buckeye Relief

The Tone:

This Staff Accountant position is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting key accounting functions. What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting & Reconciliations: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of cash accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, investigating any discrepancies.
• Cash Management & Forecasting: Assist in preparing and maintaining short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts and monitor cash balances to optimize liquidity.
• Inventory Costing: Maintain and analyze inventory costing records, support valuation processes, and assist with physical inventory counts and variance investigations.
• Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities in accordance with GAAP.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience: 1–2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Skills: Experience with inventory accounting and costing methodologies, strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail with an ability to meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or active pursuit of CPA certification, experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting, and knowledge of inventory management and cost accounting practices.
